Azma Bokhari reviews Ashura arrangements
FAISALABAD, Jun 26 (APP):Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari, heading the Cabinet Committee on Muharram for Faisalabad division, reviewed arrangements for the central procession on Friday
and inspected security measures.
She directed all departments to remain fully vigilant to ensure provision of the best possible facilities
to mourners and maintain peaceful observance of Youm-e-Ashura.
Accompanied by Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan and Adviser to Chief Minister
Zeeshan Malik, the information minister visited Clock Tower Chowk where she inspected the central Ashura procession and took a detailed briefing on administrative, security and public facilitation arrangements.
The delegation met procession organizers and participants, inquired about the arrangements and facilities being provided.
The ministers also observed sprinkling of water mist along procession routes through anti-smog guns to reduce dust and heat.
They also inspected the medical camp established by the Health Authority and reviewed the emergency healthcare facilities. They directed the officials to ensure uninterrupted medical assistance for mourners throughout the day.
Speaking on the occasion, Azma Bokhari said that providing the best possible facilities to
mourners on Youm-e-Ashura is the foremost priority of the Punjab government.
Later, the information minister visited the Safe City Control and Monitoring Center where she reviewed live camera surveillance of Ashura processions and religious gatherings in Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot and Toba Tek Singh.
