HYDERABAD, Nov 05 (APP):An awareness session was organized Wednesday at Government Fatima Jinnah Girls Higher Secondary School Nawabshah, to inform students and teachers about the role, functions, and public service mechanisms of the Provincial Ombudsman’s Office.
Regional Director Sindh Ombudsman Shaheed Benazirabad, Khan Muhammad Zardari, was guest of honor on the occasion. The session was attended by District Education Officer (Secondary) Humaira Mir, school principal, teachers and large number of students.
Addressing the session, Regional Director said that Ombudsman Sindh is an independent constitutional institution working for public grievance redressal, provision of justice and ensuring transparency and accountability in government departments.
He said that any citizen facing injustice, negligence, delay, or corruption from a public office can freely lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman’s Office, where all cases are resolved on merit and free of cost.
RD also briefed students about the institution’s mandate, laws, and public welfare initiatives, urging them to play an active role in promoting social justice, adherence to law, and civic responsibility.
He emphasized that objective of such awareness programs is to educate public about their rights and to create awareness about the jurisdiction and services of Ombudsman so that every citizen can access justice in a timely manner.
During the session, students raised various questions regarding working of the institution, which were answered in detail by the Regional Director.
