Austrian Ambassador discusses bilateral cooperation, tourism, security with Governor KP

PESHAWAR, Jun 04 (APP): The Austrian Ambassador to Pakistan Andrea Wicke met with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House here on Wednesday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Austria, the promotion of tourism, and sports-related initiatives.
The current and past situation in Afghanistan and issues concerning regional peace and security also came under discussion.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi highlighted the tourism potential of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s northern districts, saying that the region offers some of the most attractive destinations in the world.
He welcomed international companies to invest in the province’s tourism sector.
He further emphasized that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rich in natural resources and holds a deep-rooted historical and cultural heritage.
He reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to utilizing local resources for the benefit of its population.
Ambassador Wicke commended the sacrifices and determination of Pakistan’s security forces and police in the fight against terrorism.
She also expressed Austria’s keen interest in enhancing collaboration across various sectors, particularly in promoting tourism through joint efforts.
