ATTOCK, Jan 1 (APP):Attock administration is taking steps to make the district plastic-free, with a comprehensive strategy being implemented in coordination with relevant departments and the traders’ community.
According to APP correspondent, Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Attock, Aneel Saeed, emphasized the need to reduce plastic use and promote eco-friendly alternatives during a special meeting.
The meeting, attended by Deputy Director Environment Dr. Rabia Nosheen and representatives of the Traders’ Association, reviewed ongoing efforts to control plastic shopping bags and other environmentally harmful products.
Aneel Saeed stressed that public awareness is crucial in addressing plastic pollution, which poses a serious threat to the environment and human health.
Dr. Rabia Nosheen highlighted the Environment Department’s initiatives, including awareness programs, monitoring, and enforcement of laws. She emphasized that achieving a plastic-free Attock requires close coordination between the district administration and the business community.
The participants committed to reducing plastic usage significantly to protect the environment and ensure a clean and safe future. The Traders’ Association was urged to cooperate with the administration to make the plastic-free campaign successful.
