LAHORE, Dec 02 (APP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday reserved its verdict on a bail petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Omer Sarfraz Cheema in a case pertaining to the burning of police vehicles near Jinnah House during the May 9 violence.
ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill heard the bail petition and reserved the decision after completion of arguments from both sides. The court is expected to announce the verdict tomorrow.
The Sarwar Road police had registered FIR No. 108/23 against Omer Cheema and others on allegations of torching a police vehicle near Jinnah House.
Meanwhile, hearings on Cheema’s bail petitions in other cases were adjourned until December 7.
Omer Cheema has also filed bail petitions in the Jinnah House attack, Askari Tower attack, and Club Chowk GOR Gate attack cases.
He has previously been convicted in four separate May 9 cases, whereas his bail has already been approved in the Mughalpura police vehicle arson case.
