LAHORE, Nov 04 (APP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday directed the publication of newspaper advertisements to initiate proceedings for declaring fashion designer Khadija Shah and three other accused as proclaimed offenders in a May 9-related case.
ATC Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the hearing. During the proceedings, the prosecutor informed the court that Khadija Shah, Hamza Sohail, Usman Aslam, and Ahmad Mursaleen went into hiding after being convicted in a case linked to the May 9 incidents.
He submitted that the accused were also absent in a case pertaining to the attack on Askari Tower He submitted that despite being granted time and after the issuance of arrest warrants, the suspects failed to appear before the court.
The court ordered the publication of advertisements to begin the process of declaring the accused proclaimed offenders and directed the police to submit a report by December 1. The court warned that if the accused do not appear by the next hearing, they will be formally declared proclaimed offenders.
