ATC grants nine-day physical remand of 108 TLP workers

LAHORE, Oct 22 (APP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday approved a further nine-day physical remand of 108 workers of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP)  in a case related to murder and terrorism.
ATC Judge Irfan Haider heard the matter as police produced the suspects before the court after completing their previous 12-day physical remand. The investigation officer sought an extension for further interrogation.
The court also discharged one accused, identified as Sohail, after the investigating officer stated that he was a passerby and not wanted by the police.
Nawan Kot police had registered a case, accusing the suspects of killing two individuals and injuring several police personnel. It was alleged that  the accused had opened fire on police and assaulted them with sticks and clubs during the recent protest. The suspects include Imtiaz Ahmad, Aamir Abbas, Nasir Khan, Mujahid Abbas, and Samiullah, among a total of 108 individuals.
