LAHORE, Jul 25 (APP):An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended the interim pre-arrest bails of former federal minister Asad Umar and newly elected Senator Azam Khan Swati till September 19 in multiple cases related to the May 9 riots.
ATC Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the hearing on bail applications wherein Asad Umar appeared in connection with three cases — including the Jinnah House attack, Askari Tower attack, and the arson incident at Shadman Police Station. The court granted an extension in bail in all three cases until the next hearing.
Azam Khan Swati appeared before the court in connection with five cases, including those pertaining to the Jinnah House and Askari Tower attacks. The court extended his interim bail in all five cases until September 19.
The court directed the counsels to present arguments on the bail petitions at the next hearing.
