ATC conducts cross-examination of witnesses in PTI protest case

RAWALPINDI, Jan 12 (APP):The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi on Monday conducted hearing in case FIR No. 3393 of Police Station Sadiqabad, pertaining to November 26 protests. Aleema Khanum, the sister of PTI founder didn’t appear in the court.
During the proceedings, cross-examination of prosecution witnesses was completed for eight, out of ten accused persons, with total 18 witnesses have gone through the cross-examination so far.
The court issued strict warning to the counsel for the remaining two accused, including Aleema Khanum that if they fail to complete cross-examination at the next hearing, State counsel would be appointed to conduct the same on their behalf.
Aleema Khanum, remained absent and her application for exemption from personal appearance was accepted for the day.
The court adjourned the case to January 13 for further proceedings.
