RAWALPINDI, Aug 13 (APP):At its 7th and final phase, The “President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari Sports Bicycle Rally” departed for Islamabad here on Tuesday.
The rally which started from the shrine of Baba Bhulay Shah, Qasoor on 7th August and was received in Rawalpindi on 12th August at Benazir Bhutto Martyrdom place at Liaqat Bagh, is being organized by Pakistan People’s Party Sports Wing, Punjab.
Comprising 12 sports cyclists, the rally was organized in connection with Independence Day celebrations, will be participating in the central Independence Day celebrations at Convention Center, Islamabad on 14th August.
Talking to APP, General Secretary PPP Sports Wing, Punjab informed that the rally was organized to present tribute to President Zardari on his services rendered for the promotion of democracy in the country. He further said that the rally was a depiction of sportive expression of love to our country.
On departure from Rawalpindi, the rally was seen off by a number of citizens with full zeal and zest. The cyclists clad in sports kit were mounting national flags on their bicycles which further added beauty in the rallying squad.
