LAHORE, Nov 21 (APP):Delegates of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Capacity Building Conference visited the Central Police Office (CPO) here on Friday and met Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
According to PSCA spokesperson, during the visit, the delegates were briefed on Punjab Police’s modern infrastructure, crime control mechanisms, service delivery, ongoing reforms, and challenges. They also toured the Punjab Police Museum, memorials of martyrs and veterans, and various departments at the CPO.
Souvenirs were presented to the delegates by Punjab Police, while MD Punjab Safe Cities Authority Muhammad Ahsan Yunus presented a special shield to the IGP Punjab.
Dr. Usman said the visit strengthened cooperation between ASEAN member countries and Punjab Police in security and safety matters.
Special sessions on AI-based policing, smart surveillance, and traffic management were conducted during the conference. ASEAN delegates lauded the initiatives taken by Punjab Safe Cities to make the province safer. The participants said the conference would help promote technology sharing and mutual cooperation between Pakistan and ASEAN countries.
Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, Additional IG Operations Punjab Muhammad Ali Nikookara, DIG Headquarters Muhammad Abid Khan, DIG IT Mansoor-ul-Haq Rana, AIG Finance Nida Umar Chattha, AIG Inspection Shaista Nadeem, and other senior officials were also present.
