SARGODHA, Oct 24 (APP): A holding area has been established on here at the Panagah, near Dr Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital, to facilitate the repatriation of Afghan citizens holding Registration Cards.
According to the official spokesperson here on Friday, the district administration has made arrangements for security, rescue services, and medical facilities.
Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Muhammad Waseem said that the field officers have been assigned duties in three shifts to ensure a smooth process, adding that police and other relevant departments have been deployed to ensure security. He mentioned that the Afghan citizens holding Registration Cards will be brought to the holding area, where they will undergo registration and clearance before being sent back to their country. “The district administration has been directed to provide all possible facilities, keeping in view humanitarian considerations”, the DC added.
He emphasized that the repatriation process will be conducted in an organized, transparent, and humane manner, following the government’s guidelines. “The administration will ensure that the process is carried out with respect for humanity and dignity”, Muhammad Waseem concluded.
