APS martyrs remembered at ceremony in shinkiari

MANSEHRA, Dec 16 (APP):A commemorative ceremony was held on Tuesday at Government Boys High School Shinkiari to mark December 16, 2014 Martyrs of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar Day under the directives of the provincial government and on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Mansehra.
The event was organized under the supervision of Faraz Qureshi, Assistant Commissioner Baffa–Pakhal, and was attended by teachers, students, local officials and community members. Special prayers were offered for the martyrs of the APS tragedy, national songs were presented, and participants paid rich tribute to the innocent lives lost in one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in the country’s history.
In his message on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mansehra said that the APS Peshawar incident was a dark chapter in the nation’s history, in which innocent children and teachers were brutally martyred. He said the sacrifices of the APS martyrs would never be forgotten and would continue to strengthen the nation’s resolve against terrorism.
The deputy commissioner emphasized that the tragedy had united the entire nation and reinforced the commitment to safeguard educational institutions and future generations. He added that December 16 serves as a reminder of the importance of peace, unity, and vigilance, and urged students to honor the martyrs by focusing on education, discipline and national harmony.
The ceremony concluded with collective prayers for the martyrs and reaffirmation of the resolve to uphold their sacrifices and work towards a peaceful and secure Pakistan.
