GUJRAT, Nov 06 (APP): The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Gujrat has intensified its operations to curb pollution and ensure compliance with environmental laws across the district.
According to an EPA spokesperson, inspections were conducted at 17 sites, where violations were detected at two industrial units.
One unit was sealed, a notice was issued, and a case was registered, while a fine of Rs. 100,000 was imposed for non-compliance.
During the ongoing anti-plastic campaign, 25 locations were inspected, resulting in the seizure of 100 kilograms of banned plastic bags and fines amounting to Rs. 5,000.
Under the anti-smog initiative, 20 smoke-emitting vehicles were checked, of which 11 were found in violation, leading to fines totaling Rs. 22,000.
