GUJRAT, Dec 10 (APP):The Gujranwala Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, in coordination with the district administration, carried out an anti-begging operation in busy areas of the city, rescuing 10 children.
A district administration spokesperson said the operation was jointly conducted with the Labour Department, Rescue 1122, Gujrat Police, and the Social Welfare Department.
Officials added that eight adult male and female beggars were also taken into custody. The rescued children were shifted to the Child Protection Bureau in Gujranwala for further legal and welfare proceedings.
