RAWALPINDI, Jun 23 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)on Tuesday conducted five operations around educational institutions and in various cities across the country and arrested five suspects recovering 220.720 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs16.6 million.
According to the ANF spokesperson, in an operation near a university in Peshawar, ANF recovered 4.8 kg of hashish from two motorcyclists and arrested both suspects.
The suspects admitted during initial interrogation that they had been supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
In an international drug interdiction operation at Jinnah International Airport, ANF recovered 312 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, concealed in the shoes of a passenger travelling to Bahrain and arrested the suspect.
In another operation, officials recovered eight grams of cannabis from a parcel arriving from the United Kingdom at a courier office located in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi.
During domestic operations, ANF recovered 15.6 kg of hashish from two motorcyclists near Mandi Mor in Rawalpindi and arrested the suspects.
In a separate operation near Makran in Gwadar district, ANF recovered 200 kg of hashish.
The spokesman said cases had been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
