RAWALPINDI, Jan 01 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has conducted six operations across the country, arresting three suspects, including a woman, and seizing 198.15 kilograms of narcotics with an estimated value exceeding Rs 231.3 million, an ANF spokesperson said on Thursday.
The operations were carried out around educational institutions and in various cities as part of the force’s ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking.
Under the educational institutions’ drug interdiction drive, ANF recovered 4.4 kilograms of hashish near the SITE area of Karachi.
In an international interdiction operation, 122 grams of methamphetamine (ice) were seized from a parcel concealed in clothing at the Cargo Shed of Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore. The parcel was destined for Bahrain, the spokesperson said.
On Kamra Road in Attock, ANF arrested a woman and recovered 1.1 kilograms of hashish from her possession. In Lahore, 530 grams of marijuana were seized from a motorcyclist near a hotel, while in Islamabad, 2 grams of cocaine were recovered from a suspect near PWD Road.
In a major seizure in Balochistan, ANF recovered 192 kilograms of heroin from the Khojak Bypass in Quetta district.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway, the spokesperson added.
