RAWALPINDI, Sep 21 (APP): Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while conducting six operations across the country managed to recover 157 kg drugs and arrested 10 accused, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman here on Thursday.
He informed that in an operation conducted near Khanna Bridge, Islamabad, 100 ecstasy tablets were recovered from the possession of an accused, resident of Nowshera.
In another operation, 250 ecstasy tablets were recovered from a parcel booked at a cargo office on Hawks Bay Road, Karachi.
A resident of Lahore was arrested during a raid conducted at a house in a private housing society in Lahore and the ANF team recovered 91.2 kg hashish and 32.4 kg opium from the house.
In the fourth operation, 22.8 kg hashish was recovered from a vehicle intercepted near Motorway Toll Plaza Sargodha. During the operation, four accused residents of Nowshera were also arrested.
In fifth operation, 6 kg opium was recovered from a vehicle near Sahianwala Interchange, Faisalabad. Two accused residents of Nowshera and Rawalpindi were arrested.
5 kg heroin was recovered from two vehicles intercepted near Gahi Khan Chowk on Saryab Road Quetta. The arrested two suspects were trying to smuggle drugs by hiding them in the seats of the cars.
Separate cases under the Anti-Narcotics Act have been registered against the arrested accused while further investigations are under process.
