ANF continue crackdown against drug traffickers, seizes over 205 kg of drugs worth Rs18.5 million

RAWALPINDI, Oct 18 (APP):Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) intensified its nationwide crackdown against drug traffickers, conducting seven operations across the country that led to the arrest of six drug suppliers and the seizure of over 205 kilograms of drugs valued at more than Rs18.5 million.
During international operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, ANF team officers apprehended two passengers traveling to Jeddah for Umrah and recovered a total of 167 capsules from their abdomens containing 0.562 kg of heroin, 0.219 kg of ice (crystal meth), and 0.442 kg of heroin.
In another operation at a courier office in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, 68 grams of weed were recovered from a parcel arriving from the United Kingdom.
In an inter-provincial operation near Kala Shah Kaku Toll Plaza, ANF teams seized 120 kilograms of hashish and 30 kilograms of opium from a vehicle and arrested the drug smuggler on the spot. Meanwhile, domestic operations led to multiple recoveries: 30 kilograms of hashish were seized from a vehicle near Bacha Agha Bazar in Baleli, Quetta; 14.4 kilograms of hashish and 3.6 kilograms of opium were recovered from a drug supplier near Pindi Bridge on Bannu-Kohat Road; and 6 kilograms of hashish were confiscated from an individual near Rais Goth on Hub Road, Karachi.
All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA) 1997. An ANF spokesperson reiterated the force’s resolve to dismantle drug trafficking networks through intelligence-based operations and to continue efforts for a drug-free country.
