RAWALPINDI, Jan 22 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested five suspects and seized 195.22 kg of narcotics worth over Rs 23.5 million in five operations across the country, an ANF spokesperson said on Thursday.
At Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, ANF teams recovered 875 grams of methamphetamine (ice) and 90 grams of heroin from the luggage of a passenger travelling for Umrah. The suspect was taken into custody.
In Balochistan, two suspects were arrested after 78 kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle near Kutchlak Bypass in Quetta district. In a separate operation in the same area, officials seized 61 kg of ice.
In Islamabad, 18 kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle near Chungi No. 26, leading to the arrest of one suspect. Another suspect was detained in Rawalpindi after 2.2 kg of hashish was recovered near a hospital on the Grand Trunk Road.
The cases have been registered under the Narcotics Control Act 1997, and investigations are underway, the spokesperson said.
