RAWALPINDI, Feb 03 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested five suspects and seized 22.7 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs 190,000 in a series of operations across the country, an ANF spokesman said on Tuesday.
In an operation, ANF officials recovered 12 kg of hashish from a vehicle near the Fateh Jang Interchange and arrested the driver. Another suspect was detained near Chak 196 in Faisalabad with 7.2 kg of hashish, while a third was arrested in Johar Colony, Faisalabad, with 1.6 kg of the drug.
In Sialkot, ANF officials seized 1 kg of crystal meth (ice) concealed inside an electric heater at a courier office on Diska Road and arrested the accused. Separately, 400 grams of ice and 500 grams of hashish were recovered from a cement-laden truck near GT Road in Burhan, Attock district.
“Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway,” the spokesman said.
The operations are part of the force’s ongoing nationwide campaign to curb drug trafficking and narcotics abuse.
