RAWALPINDI, Feb 19 (APP): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested five suspects and seized 17.2 kilograms of narcotics worth more than 3.8 million rupees in five separate operations, an ANF spokesman said on Thursday.
He said two kilograms of hashish were recovered from a suspect near a university area in Jamshoro during an operation targeting drug activity around educational institutions. The arrested individual confessed to supplying narcotics to students.
In another operation, ANF personnel seized 10 kg of methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice”, from a suspect near Katlang in Mardan.
A further 2.4 kg of hashish was recovered near the Indus Highway in Kohat, while 2 kg of hashish was seized from a suspect near a bus terminal on GT Road in Rawalpindi.
In Quetta, authorities recovered 800 grams of cannabis from a suspect near a hospital.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and investigations are underway, he added.
