ANF arrested eight drug suppliers in nationwide drug crackdown, seizes 66.44kg narcotics

RAWALPINDI, Jan 31 (APP): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted seven operations across the country, arresting eight drug suppliers including two women, and seizing 66.44 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs10 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the operations were conducted near educational institutions and in various cities to curb drug trafficking.
In Sialkot’s Glutian Mor area, 4.8kg of hashish and 600 grams of opium were recovered from a motorcyclist, who later confessed to supplying drugs to students.
At Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, ANF intercepted a man and a woman and recovered 83 capsules containing 678 grams of heroin from their abdomens.
During domestic operations, 23kg of ice was seized from a vehicle in Hazarganj, Quetta; 21.6kg of hashish from a motorcyclist on Wazirabad Road, Sialkot, 9.6kg of hashish near Super Highway M-9, Karachi, 6kg of hashish from a woman near Ring Road, Peshawar and 293 ecstasy tablets weighing 168 grams hidden in an MP3 player near Band Road, Lahore.
ANF spokesperson said cases have been registered against all suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997 and further investigations are under way, reiterating that operations against drug traffickers especially those targeting students will continue.
