ANF apprehends international drug smuggler, involved in supplying narcotics to educational institutions

RAWALPINDI, Oct 16 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) successfully foiled a major drug smuggling attempt at Islamabad International Airport by arresting a British citizen of Pakistani origin,  arrived from Thailand, said an ANF spokesman on Thursday.
During the baggage inspection, he informed that ANF officials recovered 11.182 kgs of Weed and 3.616 kgs of Cannabis, tactfully concealed in different types of packing materials worth approximately Rs 11.6 million.
During the initial investigation, the accused revealed that he was to smuggle the recovered narcotics to Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK). He further disclosed that he had an accomplice in Dhudial, AJK, who was involved in selling drugs to students of educational institutions and other young individuals.
A case had been registered against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act-1997, and further investigation is underway.
The ANF remains committed to preventing the infiltration of narcotics into educational institutions through continuous vigilance, intelligence-based operations, and close coordination with other law enforcement agencies to safeguard the youth from the devastating effects of drugs, he added.
