Ancient artifacts dating back 2800 years discovered in Kandar Bidadi Shinkiari

MANSEHRA, Jan 27 (APP):The Department of Archaeology at Hazara University, Manshera here on Monday uncovered ancient artifacts dating back 2800 years in Kandar Bidadi, Shinkiari. Dr. Shakirullah Jan, Head of the Department of Archaeology, revealed that excavation work has been underway at the British-era site in Kandar Bidadi for the past month.
The excavation, which reached a depth of five meters, has revealed artifacts spanning five historical periods, ranging from 2600 to 2800 years ago. These include items from the Ancient Greek, Parthian, Kushan, Hindu Shahi, Muslim, and British eras.
Significant findings from the site include a Parthian-period bead workshop, a copper workshop from the Kushan period, and numerous ancient coins from the Kushan era. These discoveries have been crucial in pinpointing the specific historical periods of the artifacts.
Dr. Shakirullah Jan stated that once the excavation phase is concluded, the documentation process will follow.
