PESHAWAR, Nov 03 (APP): A protest has been lodged by Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and MPA Afsha Hussain Advocate over alleged large-scale rigging and irregularities in the recent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council elections.
She stated that voters were deprived of their right to vote freely, as representatives of candidates and influential individuals were present inside polling stations and booths, making the process non-transparent.
Afsha Hussain further alleged that a few days before the polls, certain political parties distributed millions of rupees in donations in the presence of the Chief Minister to influence the election. She also accused rival groups of buying candidates and pressuring voters.
She demanded that the authorities immediately declare the elections null and void and conduct fresh, free, and fair polls.
She called for severe punishment and disqualification for anyone found involved in the rigging, emphasizing that the Bar Council elections must be held under honest and impartial supervision trusted by the entire legal fraternity.
