SANGHAR, Feb 23 (APP):The district chapter of the Alkhidmat Foundation, Sanghar, distributed 200 ration bags among deserving families at a ceremony held at the green ground of Harra Public School on the occasion of Ramazan.
Speaking at the event, district president Syed Tauheed Ahmed Shah, along with local leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, including Syed Areefullah, Abdul Ghafoor Ansari and Mushtaq Ahmed Adil, said the foundation organises annual Ramazan relief drives to support underprivileged families with essential food items for sehri and iftar.
They said the organisation was currently sponsoring 200 orphaned children every month under its orphan care programme, covering their educational expenses and household support through fixed stipends. At the end of Ramazan, the children are facilitated with Eid shopping according to their choice, while deserving families are also provided with clothes and financial assistance to enable them to celebrate Eid with dignity.
The speakers said the foundation had consistently remained at the forefront of relief efforts during difficult times and urged the government to announce a comprehensive Ramazan relief package in view of rising inflation so that low-income families could observe the holy month with peace of mind.
Among those present on the occasion were Abdul Sattar Ansari, Jahangir Iqbal, Hamza Rashid and Ejaz Ahmed, besides several party workers and local residents.
