LAHORE, Jan 07 (APP):In a significant move toward digital transformation and modern governance,the Lahore Arts Council Alhamra on Wednesday decided to introduce an online booking system for its halls,art galleries and allied facilities.
The initiative aims to ensure transparency,operational efficiency and greater convenience for artists,cultural institutions and the general public,bringing Alhamra in line with contemporary global practices.
An important meeting in this regard was held at the Lahore Arts Council Alhamra under the chairmanship of Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal.
All relevant officers of the institution attended the meeting,during which detailed discussions were held on the initial steps,structural framework and implementation road map for launching the online booking service.
Addressing the meeting,Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal emphasized that online booking has become a necessity in the modern era.
He noted that the digital system would not only enhance transparency but also provide faster,more reliable and user-friendly services to the public.
He said that Alhamra was a progressive institution that continues to evolve with changing times by adopting modern solutions to better serve the cultural and artistic community.
Rabia,representing the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), briefed participants on the technical and operational aspects of the proposed online system.
Officers present at the meeting offered valuable suggestions related to various features of the platform,which were thoroughly discussed and agreed upon for incorporation into the project’s future course of action.
