Alhamra to host intellectual session on 752nd death anniversary of Maulana Rumi

LAHORE, Dec 15 (APP):The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) will organize an intellectual and literary session to commemorate the 752nd death anniversary of the world-renowned poet, philosopher, and spiritual luminary Maulana Jalaluddin Balkhi Rumi (RA).
The event will be held on Wednesday, December 17, at 4:00 PM in Alhamra Hall No. 3.
The session aims to pay tribute to Maulana Rumi’s enduring intellectual, spiritual, and literary legacy through in-depth discussions on the universal relevance of his thought, Sufi philosophy, and poetic expression. Scholars and participants will explore the semantic depth of Rumi’s kalam and its timeless message of love, harmony, and spiritual awakening.
Renowned scholar of Persian and Urdu literature Dr. Moin Nizami will deliver the keynote address. His discourse will focus on Rumi’s intellectual framework, the concept of divine love, humanism, and his celebrated philosophical notion of “Hast-o-Nist,” highlighting its contemporary relevance in achieving intellectual balance and spiritual clarity in today’s complex world.
Speaking on the occasion, Alhamra Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said that Alhamra continues to serve as a vibrant platform for intellectual, literary, and scholarly dialogue. He emphasized that the teachings of Maulana Rumi carry a universal message of compassion, humanity, and spiritual awareness, offering meaningful guidance even in the modern, fragmented age. He added that Rumi’s thought transcends cultural and civilizational boundaries, a vision that aligns closely with Alhamra’s commitment to promoting meaningful cultural and intellectual engagement.
