LAHORE, Nov 27 (APP): The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert on fog and smog, all commissioners and deputy commissioners were directed to ensure timely measures regarding fog and smog.
DG Irfan Ali Kathia said that Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and other districts may be affected by severe fog and smog, other districts include Faisalabad, Nankana, Gujranwala, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Layyah, Kot Addu, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Khanpur.
The provincial administration should ensure the implementation of government measures to prevent fog and smog, there is a fear of respiratory diseases and other diseases due to smog, children and the elderly are more likely to be affected due to smog.
The DG PDMA said that there is a risk of an increase in accidents on the roads due to fog, and a case will be registered for burning crop residues and garbage.
The DG PDMA also directed the administration to conduct a thorough anti-smog awareness campaign, saying that diseases can be prevented by eliminating environmental pollution.
