AJK to harness Hydropower Potential for revenue, youth employment: PM Iftikhar Gilani

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister (AJK PM) Syed Iftikhar Ali Gillani on Saturday said tapping the region’s vast hydropower potential could boost state revenue and create new employment opportunities for young people.

MIRPUR (AJK), Oct 10 (APP):Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister (AJK PM) Syed Iftikhar Ali Gillani on Saturday said tapping the region’s vast hydropower potential could boost state revenue and create new employment opportunities for young people.
Chairing the 19th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Power Development Organisation (PDO) in the State metropolis, he said the government was focusing on developing key sectors to strengthen the state’s economy.
The PM said a comprehensive policy would be formulated to ensure effective implementation and timely completion of development projects, stressing the need for coordinated efforts to accelerate economic growth.
The meeting approved an increase in medical and health allowances for PDO employees, conveyance allowance for employees with disabilities, and upgradation of technical staff.
The meeting was attended among others by Minister for Energy and Water Resources Raja Saqib Majeed, Minister for Industries, Commerce and Tourism Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, Chief Secretary Khushal Khan, Secretary Energy and Water Resources Chaudhry Muhammad Tayyab,
