Sargodha, Jul 22 (APP):An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Sargodha on Tuesday awarded 10-year each imprisonment to 70 accused, including Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar, in May 9, 2023, riots case.
The verdict was announced by ATC Judge Muhammad Naeem Sheikh.
The case was registered at the Musa Khel police station in Mianwali under charges of violent protests, vandalism and incitement.
The court found the accused guilty of participating in violent unrest that targeted state institutions and public property.
The accused who were convicted, including Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar and PTI MNA Ahmed Chattha.
