Agri Direct, Red Crescent sign MoU to tackle climate change, food security

ISLAMABAD, Jul 01 (APP): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Agri Direct Private Limited and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a ceremony held at the Governor House Islamabad on Tuesday.
The signing took place in the presence of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi.
The MoU was signed by Shahroz Khattak, Chief Executive Officer of Agri Direct, and Habib Malik Orakzai, Chairman of PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Under the agreement, both organizations will collaborate on key areas including joint research on climate change and food security, community engagement and capacity building, coordinated emergency response, and the formulation of effective policy recommendations.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed hope that the agreement would prove to be a significant step forward in addressing the challenges of climate change and ensuring food security in Pakistan.
Senior officials from both PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Agri Direct were also present at the ceremony.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Omani bikers from the Bousher Biker Club, led by PPP’s Gulf and Central Asia President Mian Munir Hans, met with Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House.
The bikers, who have toured 12 Gulf countries, shared their positive experiences visiting various tourist sites across Pakistan, including Hunza, Naran, Babusar, and Khunjerab. They praised the hospitality, security, and warm welcome of the Pakistani people.
Governor Kundi thanked the bikers for their goodwill visit and invited them to explore the scenic beauty of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the future, expressing hope for stronger people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Oman.
