MULTAN, Jun 22 (APP):The district administration has imposed a complete ban on the use of drones and aerial coverage across Multan during Muharram-ul-Haram under Section 144 as part of enhanced security arrangements.
Under the restrictions, drones will not be allowed for media coverage, procession monitoring or any other purpose during the holy month.
The decision has been taken on the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar to further strengthen security and prevent any untoward incident during Muharram. Police said special measures were being taken to curb the illegal use of drones and ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the city.
Multan Police warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found violating Section 144 by flying drones, adding that cases would be registered against violators in accordance with the law.
The police also appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and the district administration for maintaining peace during Muharram, follow the code of conduct and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
