RAWALPINDI, Jul 28 (APP):In view of potential risks during the current monsoon spell, an advisory has been issued for the citizens to adopt precautionary measures while traveling to Murree.
The advisory, issued by the DC Murree, Zaheer Abbass Shirazi urges the public to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly to hilly areas risked to landslides.
“Residents are advised to keep drainage systems around their homes clear to prevent water accumulation and to cooperate fully with the district administration to ensure their safety and that of others”, reads the advisory.
Citizens are also advised to immediately contact the district control room or local authorities in case of any emergency. Safety instructions are also being disseminated through announcements in local mosques, and the public is urged to comply with them.
Citizens have also been urged to stay updated with guidelines and alerts issued by the Meteorological Department and district administration.
“The Murree district administration is utilizing all available resources to ensure the safety of lives and property”, said the deputy commissioner asking public to take precautionary measures and report any emergency promptly.
