Advisor CM Punjab visits Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology

SARGODHA, Oct 22 (APP):Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister on Health, Major General (R) Azhar Mahmood Kayani on Wednesday visited the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha .During the visit, he conducted a comprehensive review of the construction progress, design, and facilities of the under-construction hospital.
In his address, Maj Gen (R) Kayani described the institute as a “special gift” to the people of Sargodha from former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He emphasized that the establishment of this state-of-the-art cardiology hospital in the region marked a significant milestone in improving healthcare.
Providing details on the project’s timeline, the Advisor shared that the construction was expected to be completed by November. He further mentioned that the installation of medical equipment will be finalized by April 2026.
Maj Gen (R) Kayani also announced that the Out-Patient Department (OPD) will begin operations in December this year, offering services such as ETT, Echo, and MRI for patients. He added that angiography and other advanced procedures would commence in April 2026.
The Advisor noted that the next step was to assemble a highly skilled medical team to operate the facility. Once fully operational, the institute will alleviate the burden on patients from the Sargodha Division who currently need to travel to other cities for cardiac treatment.
“This institute will become a key center for heart care in the region,” Maj Gen (R) Azhar Mahmood Kayani concluded.
