ADC urges public mobilization to control dengue

SIALKOT, Nov 15 (APP): Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ayub Bukhari on Saturday stressed the need to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and enhance community mobilization to curb dengue spread in the district.
Presiding over a meeting of the District Anti-Dengue Committee,he said all departments must keep their premises mosquito-free and raise awareness among citizens.
Officials informed the meeting that 4,695 suspected dengue cases were reported this year, with 24 confirmed.
The ADC directed strict monitoring of dengue hotspots and timely spraying and larviciding as per SOPs.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the 12-day measles and rubella vaccination campaign starting November 17,targeting 599,193 children aged six months to five years through 136 fixed and 358 outreach teams.
