Action initiated against  selling, hoarding sugar at inflated price

HYDERABAD, Jul 23 (APP):Large-scale actions were carried out across all tehsils by Assistant Commissioners against those selling and hoarding sugar at inflated prices. The actions were initiated on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani. In this regard, Assistant Commissioner Sakrand, Rameez Raja, sealed two sugar warehouses in Sakrand and imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 on profiteers. Similarly, Assistant Commissioner Qazi Ahmed imposed a fine of Rs. 1,000, while Assistant Commissioner Nawabshah, Iqbal Ahmed Tunio, fined violators Rs. 6,000 for overpricing sugar.
Assistant Commissioners of the district said that, following the orders of the Sindh government and Deputy Commissioner, daily inspections of markets are being conducted to ensure strict implementation of the officially fixed sugar rates.
