Acid attack convict sentenced to life imprisonment, fined Rs1.5 million

MULTAN, Dec 26 (APP):The Crime Control Department (CCD) Lodhran secured a life imprisonment sentence and a fine of Rs1.5 million for Muhammad Asif, convicted in an acid attack case.
The decision was made by the Anti-Terrorism Court Multan on Friday.
According to details, on September 29, 2025, Asif threw acid on Muhammad Yameen and his son Kamran in Karor Pakka, causing severe injuries to both victims.
A case (No.74/25) was registered under sections 336-B and 148/149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The CCD Lodhran arrested Asif on October 15, 2025, after completing a swift and thorough investigation.
The court, fully supporting the investigation, found Asif guilty and handed down the life sentence along with the fine.
The case was concluded in a remarkably short time of one month and 22 days.
A CCD official stated that acid attacks are brutal crimes and the department was committed to enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against such offenses.
