ACE arrests housing foundation official for getting bribe
KHANEWAL, Nov 28 (APP): An Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Khanewal circle team arrested an official of Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation (PGSHF) while receiving Rs 100,000 as illegal gratification from a person in a plot-related matter.
The action was ordered by Regional Director ACE Multan, Basharat Nabi, in compliance with standing instructions from Punjab DG ACE Sohail Zafar Chattha, for decisive action against corrupt elements.
Circle Officer Khanewal, Sajid Ali, arrested PGSHF employee Ghulam Hussain red-handed while receiving Rs100,000 as bribe from a citizen. Complainant said, the accused had allegedly been extorting money from residents for the past eight years.
Residents of PGSHF Khanewal thanked the Anti-Corruption DG, Regional Director Multan, and the Circle Officer for taking long-awaited action. The complainant alleged that some PGSHF officials were now pressuring him to give a statement in favour of the arrested employee, while no departmental action has yet been taken against him despite serious allegations.
The complainant has appealed to the Chief Minister Punjab, Managing Director PGSHF, and Director Admin to immediately initiate departmental proceedings against the official.
