RAWALPINDI, Feb 24 (APP): Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Tuesday took immediate action to address the concerns of traders of the Commercial Market, assuring them of expedited construction work.
A delegation of the Traders Association of Commercial Market met the minister to raise concerns over delays in ongoing construction work, which they said was disrupting business during the holy month of Ramazan, and to seek his intervention.
On the minister’s instructions, Municipal Officer (Infrastructure) Rafaqat Gondal and Sub-Engineer Muhammad Qasim visited the market to review the situation.
Association President Malik Sohail Awan, General Secretary Raja Zafar Yousaf, Joint Secretary Tahir Ismail, Vice President Raja Rashid Mahmood and others said the slow pace of work could affect their business during the holy month.
Rafaqat Gondal assured the traders that their concerns would be addressed on priority and that the construction work would be accelerated. He added that although Tango Market was not initially part of the project, it was later included due to the personal interest of Minister Abbasi and the Traders Association.
The traders expressed gratitude to the minister for the intervention, describing it as an effective representation of the business community.
