94 held, Rs 26.30 mln fine imposed on profiteers

Sargodha, Jul 28 (APP):Price control magistrates arrested 94 individuals, sealed 32 business outlets and imposed fine of Rs 26.30 million on them for price violations and non-compliance with rate lists during the last 27 days.
This was revealed in a performance report released by the Price Control Magistrates
here on Monday.
According to the report, the Price Control Magistrates conducted a total of 136,279
inspections in various markets, bazaars and shops and taken stringent action against
inflation and profiteering in the district.
As many as 7,200 inspections were conducted in Sargodha city, 2,650 in Bhakkar
and 2,000 inspections were carried out in Bhalwal .
Deputy Commissioner Capt (R) Muhammad Wasim emphasized that profiteering
and artificial inflation would not be tolerated at all.
He directed the Price Magistrates to intensify daily inspections to provide relief
to the public.
The DC’s directive aims to ensure strict enforcement of price controls and provide
relief to the public through intensified inspections and action against violators.
