SIALKOT, Oct 27 (APP):Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora on Monday announced the restoration of 900-year-old Shawala Teja Singh Temple.
During his visit to the temple, Minister Arora distributed Diwali grants and gifts to members of the Hindu community, marking the occasion with a gesture of goodwill.
He announced that a specialized team from the Walled City Authority would soon begin the restoration work. In addition, the historic Puran Bhagat’s Khooh, a significant cultural landmark, will also be revived as part of the ongoing efforts to preserve religious heritage.
Minister Arora emphasized that the Punjab government remained fully committed to the welfare of all minority communities in the province, ensuring equal rights and religious freedom in line with the constitution.
In his remarks, Arora also expressed appreciation for Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif’s support in the restoration of the historic Babay Di Beri Sikh shrine in Sialkot, a significant move to safeguard the region’s religious heritage.
