RAWALPINDI, May 08 (APP):City Police Officer Rawalpindi (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani on Thursday suspended eight policemen, including two officers, for allegedly being involved in corruption at the Judicial Complex.
Inspector Manzoor, Sub-Inspector Wilayat, and constables Sohail, Saqlain, Saeed, Tanveer and Hasnain were also taken into custody on the orders of CPO Hamdani, the police spokesman said.
The CPO ordered action taking notice of a video in which three policemen could be seen committing corruption at the Judicial Complex.
“All the policemen have been suspended and a charge sheet was issued against them. A case is also being registered against them,” the spokesman said.
CPO Hamdani warned the policemen that corruption or negligence of duties woud not be tolerated. Those policemen “who tarnish the reputation of the department are not among us and we will hold them strictly accountable,” he added.
