BAHAWALPUR, Nov 05 (APP):The School of State Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), inaugurated the 5th International Conference on “Governance, Identity, and Empowerment: Pathways to Inclusive Societies.”
District Police Officer Bahawalpur Muhammad Hassan Iqbal was the chief guest, while Additional Commissioner Coordination Dr. Nayyar Mustafa participated as guest of honor. Keynote speakers included Abdul Qadir Qamar (DIG Police Islamabad), Dr. Khan M.R. Tawfiq (Oxford Group University, UK), Prof. Dr. Adam Sot (Bahria University Islamabad), and Prof. Dr. Shabana Fayyaz (Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad).
In his message, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, the conference patron, said that IUB is committed to promoting academic excellence, innovation, and global educational linkages. He noted that the participation of national and international delegates reflects IUB’s growing stature as a world-class institution in the social sciences.
Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Chief Organizer Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti emphasized that in today’s globalized world, social scientists play a vital role in addressing governance, identity, and environmental challenges by bridging social and class disparities. Director of the School of State Sciences Dr. Sarfaraz Batool highlighted that the school is contributing significantly to governance education and research, and the conference aims to develop governance models aligned with modern needs. Focal Person and Chairman of the Department of Public Administration Dr. Shahbaz Ali Khan stated that the conference will foster meaningful academic exchange and research collaboration, promoting harmony among scholars, experts, and administrators. Conference Secretary and Chairman of the Department of Political Science Dr. Shakeel Akhtar briefed participants on the three-day conference schedule and expressed gratitude to the delegates, faculty, and students for their active participation. Deputy Focal Person Dr. Ansar Abbas shared details regarding conference arrangements.
