5,500 Police Personnel Deployed for Pak–Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe ODIs

RAWALPINDI, Nov 09 (APP): The Rawalpindi Police have made full security and traffic arrangements for the upcoming Pakistan–Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe ODI series and the Tri-Nation Cricket Tournament to ensure the safety of players and spectators.
Over 5,500 police personnel have been deployed, supported by 350 traffic officers and wardens to manage the flow of vehicles around the stadium. City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani said senior officers are actively supervising the operations, briefing staff, and inspecting security posts. Snipers have been stationed on rooftops and key areas near the stadium for rapid response in case of emergencies.
A control room with advanced CCTV surveillance has been set up to monitor operations.
In addition Elite Force, Dolphin Squad, and police are conducting regular patrolling to ensure comprehensive security.
For public convenience, additional traffic staff will guide commuters through alternate routes. According to the CPO, the arrangements aim to allow cricket fans to enjoy matches in a safe and peaceful environment.
