531 constable drivers, 50 band personnel pass out at Police College Sihala

RAWALPINDI, Dec 15 (APP):The Police College Sihala on Monday held a passing-out parade for constable drivers and band personnel, with Additional Inspector General (Training) Punjab, Mahboob Aslam Lillah, attending as the chief guest.
A total of 531 constable drivers and 50 band personnel completed their training.
Police contingents presented a ceremonial salute to the chief guest, while training officers of the band demonstrated their skills through musical performances. Officers who achieved top positions in the course were awarded shields and prizes by the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional IG Mahboob Aslam Lillah congratulated the successful officers and commended the administration of Police College Sihala for their practical role in completing the course.
He said that in the modern era, police performance “depends on timely response and safe mobility”. He praised Inspector General Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, for personally ensuring the efficiency of police stations and training institutions.
He added that the high standards at which drivers and band personnel were trained at the college reflected the professionalism of the commandant, and thanked the IG Punjab for providing excellent facilities across all institutions.
Commandant Police College Sihala, Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, said the training had been conducted on modern lines, emphasising stress and anger management as well as VIP security procedures. He added that professional training formed the foundation of effective operational performance.
He said the Police College Sihala, established in 1959, was Pakistan’s largest police training institution. He added that over 100,000 officers and staff from various institutions had received training at the college so far. The training focused on basic principles, discipline, and professional skills.
The ceremony was also attended by domestic and international guests.
