FAISALABAD, Oct 14 (APP): More than 503,000 children under the age of five were vaccinated against polio on the first day of the ongoing anti-polio campaign, which began on Monday across the district.
This progress was shared during a meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir, held on Tuesday.
District Health Officer Azmat Abbas briefed the committee on the implementation status of the campaign and outlined the targets and coverage achieved so far.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of achieving 100% coverage, instructing all departments to ensure no child is missed. “Children not found at home must be traced and vaccinated,” he said, stressing that strict adherence to the micro plan must be maintained without any negligence.
He further directed all Assistant Commissioners to actively monitor the campaign in their respective areas to ensure its effectiveness and timely completion.
