MULTAN, Nov 27 (APP): The Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) teams caught 41 power thieves across the region in a day during anti-theft operation.
The MEPCO teams also arrested nine thieves on the spot and forwarded 37 cases for registration of FIRs with the concerned police stations. The team also imposed fine of Rs 4.021 million on the pilferers.
According to MEPCO sources, 10 pilferers were caught in Multan circle, three in D.G. Khan Circle, two in Vehari Circle, two in Bahawalpur Circle, eight in Sahiwal Circle, nine in Rahim Yar Khan Circle, two in Muzaffargarh Circle, while five power pilferers were nabbed in Khanewal Circle.
under the supervision of MEPCO Bahawalnagar SE Khalid Hussain Sial and Rangers officials, a joint operation in Madrassa Sub-Division recovered Rs1.515 million from 36 running and dead defaulters. The team also disconnected ten connections with arrears exceeding Rs 200,000 and seized the meters.
