KARACHI, Jul 17 (APP):The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) / CIA Police Karachi has successfully recovered a four-year-old boy, Hussain, who was abducted from the Saeedabad area of District Keamari.
According to SSP SIU Muhammad Shoaib Memon on Thursday, acting on a tip-off, the SIU conducted a targeted raid earlier today and also apprehended the members of the kidnapping gang.
The gang was led by a man named Jameel Burhan, who operated in collusion with his wife and mother. The group was involved in abducting young children and extorting large sums of money from their families by posing as spiritual healers and using fake rituals to manipulate them.
The kidnappers had even set up a bogus spiritual center (fake “Astana”) in Saeedabad to carry out their schemes. One of the accused, Mumtaz Begum alias “Pirani,” reportedly extracted between Rs 80,000 to Rs 100,000 from the family of the abducted boy.
Through diligent investigation and strategic planning, the SIU team exposed and arrested the entire group. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
Arrested suspects include Jameel Burhan s/o Abdul Rahim, Ameera w/o Jameel Burhan and Mumtaz Begum alias “Pirani” w/o Abdul Rahim.
